After leaving Kitson Collage in Leeds Cawston spent a year photographing LS6. Exhibiting the prints on washing Lines in the University, where he had previously done a Sociology Degree.

In 2022, thirty years later he has begun a new colour series in the same area. with the plan to have an exhibition of the two projects in Leeds oin 2023
